Miguel Aido
Miguel Aido is a portuguese pianist and film composer. From 2017 to 2020 he studied Film Production in the Lisbon Theatre and Film School, as well as Screenwriting and Sound for Film. In his last year at university he directed the short film "Your holiday destination!", which features in the blog "3m 20s", made up of a collection of films directed during the first lockdown in Portugal in March and April 2020, amid the covid-19 pandemic. The blog is run by portuguese film critic João Lopes.
Before graduating he interned as a production assistant in the short series "Pecado" at the end of 2020, after which he has worked as a production- and location-manager on different projects. He has also worked as a driver/PA, namely for the DocLisboa Film Festival (2021 onwards).
He has played the piano for many years and that has lead him to pursue music, and film scoring, after his work in film production. He has composed the music for Tomás Paiva Ferreira's short film "Fate" (2022), as well as for Luís Afonso de Matos's "Flowers for my Father" (2022).
